2. What we keep, and why
Booking requests
When you send a booking request through the form we store your name, email address, phone number (if given), the dates you asked for, the number of guests, your message and the language of the page.
Purpose: answering the request, confirming the booking and preparing your stay. Legal basis: steps prior to entering a contract, and performing it (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). The tick box on the form records that you have read this notice.
Preventing abuse
To keep the form and the login from being flooded we store a one-way hash of the visitor's IP address, made with a key that changes daily, for at most 7 days. The IP address itself is not stored by the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in keeping the booking system working.
Server logs
The web server logs requests (IP address, time, page, browser type) to find faults and attacks, and deletes them after 14 days. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
3. How long we keep it
- A request that was declined, cancelled or expired unanswered: 1 year from when it arrived, after which the personal details are deleted.
- A booking that went ahead: 8 years, the retention period for accounting records under Hungarian law (Act C of 2000, section 169).
- The related emails are kept in our mailbox on the same terms.
4. Who can see it
Only the operator of the accommodation. The processors we use:
- Google Ireland Ltd. (Gmail) — sending and storing the emails about your request and its confirmation.
- Hetzner Online GmbH (Gunzenhausen, Germany) — the server that runs the site and its database, in the European Union.
Booking.com and szallas.hu are only told which nights are taken — never a name or contact detail. No data leaves the European Economic Area, and no decision about you is made automatically.
5. Cookies and tracking
The public site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and loads no fonts or scripts from anyone else. It remembers your language choice in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device.
6. Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected, deleted or restricted; you can object to processing based on legitimate interest, and ask for your data in a machine-readable form. Write to the address above; we answer within a month.
You can complain to the Hungarian data protection authority, NAIH (1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11; www.naih.hu), or go to court.
